“Working with kids is my favorite, probably because of their positive attitudes and almost constant smiles! Another benefit of working with CCS is the open communication. Being able to discuss treatment plans with each child’s PT creates a huge advantage for each patient’s progress. From TLSOs to arch supports I feel like I can make a positive difference in their little lives.”

Certified Orthotist Prosthetist, Bilingual and CCS Paneled

Brian holds clinics for therapists and care providers at 4 different California Children’s Services locations throughout the Bay Area. Treating scoliosis is one of his specialties, and he is able to communicate with our hispanic patients and address their concerns in their native language.

Brian draws from his experience

My initial interest in the medical field came through an auto accident at age 17.  I was in serious condition and had multiple surgeries on my left leg.  I was able to return to a completely functional level and still feel indebted to the medical staff involved in my care. I decided I wanted to be part of helping people with physical challenges return to a functional level.

I was in my senior year of my undergraduate at BYU when I first became aware of Orthotics and Prosthetics.  A local physician visited as a guest speaker and I spoke with him after class.  He suggested several professions and I decided to look into Prosthetics and Orthotics.  I contacted a nearby O&P facility and before long was able to set up my internship.  By the end of my internship I was accepted to the O&P certificate program at CSUDH.

I graduated CSUDH in 2009 and have worked in Orthotics and Prosthetics since. I have focused more on Orthotics and received several special training courses in the field’s progressing treatments.  I have had the opportunity to sit with Doctors and Physical Therapists in several different settings to discuss proper pathways for each patient’s recovery or adjustment process. I feel a great reward at work.
