Collier O&P began as Collier Rehabilitation in 1981.

Founded by Milo Collier, Collier serviced the Northern East Bay Area from San Ramon, Oakland, to Vallejo, providing full Orthotic and Prosthetic services.

In 1988 John Russell bought Collier Rehabilitation in Pleasant Hill and developed a name for himself and the company by introducing a proprietary R-Wrap™ AFO, ANC no-cut AFO, and the V-gap patient-adjustable prosthetic socket that was ahead of its time. John Russell and Jesse Detorres were the Orthotist and Prosthetist at the time, with Rolland Bonilla as the main technician and three administrative personnel.

John Russell, ABC-certified Orthotist and Prosthetist, began custom engineering devices in the early 80’s. Committed to helping patients, doctors, and therapists with their most difficult cases, John created the proprietary R-Wrap™, and a whole family of unique devices, moving patients towards better results than doctors thought possible. Since Collier’s inception, many have tried to copy John Russell’s designs but no one has duplicated his results.

In 2012, Collier O&P was acquired by Castle Hill Holdings

Collier Orthotic and Prosthetics now operates in Sacramento and Pleasant Hill, California as a full service Orthotics and Prosthetics patient care facility. Our certified practitioners have several specialty areas which include lower extremity ankle foot orthoses, OA knee orthoses, knee ankle foot orthoses, pediatric care, and upper and lower extremity prosthetics. Our team has a combined 38 plus years’ experience, including extensive work with the Shriners Hospitals.

In 2018, we extended our family with a satellite office in Oakland, CA

Director of Prosthetics George Villarruel talks about the Collier-Laurence transition.

Video Text: My name is George Villarruel, Director of Prosthetics at Collier-Laurence Orthotics and Prosthetics. I want to speak about the additions-acquisition of Laurence Orthotics and Prosthetics into the Collier Family. This will allow us to service new accounts and to spread our philosophy of compassion and service to the orthotics and prosthetics communities. We feel we can provide excellent service to the pediatric and adult populations in need of an orthotic or prosthetic device.
